Curriculum: Pasco County Curriculum

Many fine Pasco educators have created Curriculum Maps in the courses listed and we are pleased to provide them to help focus instruction. These Curriculum Maps are tools that will assist you with planning for instruction to meet the needs of your students and will continue to be revised as needed. If you have any questions or comments regarding the maps please direct them to your content area supervisor. The K-12 reading plan requires the use of a core comprehensive reading program for instruction of the elementary Language Arts curriculum. For this reason, curriculum maps in Reading/Language Arts are not feasible. However, Houghton Mifflin, our current comprehensive core program, may need to be supplemented in order to provide instructional practice with a wide variety of genres for each of the comprehension skills, before students are able to successfully apply the concept. For this reason, additional emphasis on the seven key comprehension skills is encouraged in order to provide dense and intense comprehension instruction. As an additional resource, elementary flip charts can be used for suggested timelines of thematic units.
